JCC Association Solidarity Mission to Israel

Executive leaders from 12 North American JCCs visited Israel from November 15-20 on a solidarity mission hosted by JCC Association of North America with significant support from Israel's Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism. The delegation from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) demonstrated the commitment of top leadership of the JCC Movement to standing with Israel in the face of war. The mission included visits of Sderot and Kibbutz Kfar Azza and the areas most effected by the Hamas attack on October 7; meetings with evacuees and the families of those held captive in Gaza; a visit to the Shamir Medical Center to learn about cutting edge treatment for PTSD; briefings with community leaders, military, and political leaders; meetings with the leadership of the Israel Association of Community Centers in Israel; and opportunities for direct service on behalf of those in greatest need.
