Attention JCC teen professionals: A New Dr Ramer JCC Global Hub!

In response to current events, JCC Global is launching a new and innovative program: Teen.Truth.Talk: Empowering impactful conversations and actions to promote the just representation of Israel and combat antisemitism.

The program will begin on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 with 6 online weekly sessions for JCC teen professionals. It will follow with pairing groups of teens from overseas JCCs and Israel who will meet online together, all under the auspices of JCC Global.

Registration deadline: January 16, 2024.

JCC Global Study Seminar to CDI Mexico City, March 7-11, 2024

JCC leaders are invited to join a JCC Global delegation to CDI Mexico. A five-day in-depth program to learn, understand and connect with the Jewish experience in Mexico and Latin America. The program will feature “Dancing for Israel”- the 50th-Yovel- AVIV Carlos Halpert Jewish Dance Festival of CDI Mexico with 100 dance groups and 2000 dancers.

Attention: JCC Dance Groups

The AVIV Carlos Halpert Jewish Dance Festival of CDI Mexico, March 3-10, 2024, is still accepting entries from Jewish dance groups from around the world to participate in this year’s Festival, either in person or online. For the fourth year in a row, JCC Global is supporting the international segment to strengthen global Jewish connections.

JCC to JCC connections across the seas

Several clusters of JCCs have begun joint programming with the facilitation of JCC Global and will continue in 2024:

  • JCC Global for teens - Marks JCH of Bensonhurst, NY, USA; Kiryat Bialik community center, Israel.

Culminating the TO LIGHT JCC Global Hanukkah campaign

More than 100 JCC leaders from around the world joined the JCC GLOBAL TO LIGHT campaign culmination event on December 10. More than 30 JCCs were matched to share joint greetings and zoom calls for the holiday. The online event featured live candle lightning in Beit Grand Odessa, Staten Island JCC, NY, Kedem JCC in Chisinau, Moldova and Binyamina-Givat-Ada Community Center. The program featured a spotlight on the work of the community center in Ofakim and ending with the Maccabees of Maccabi World Union and their efforts to host and accommodate hundreds of evacuees.

EDUT 710- Documenting Eyewitness Testimonies

On the December 10th call, participants heard a moving testimony of a young mother who survived the October 7th attack. It was presented by EDUT 710- a grassroots volunteer organization founded by professionals in the fields of documentary films, historical research, and mental health, who joined together to document, digitize, archive, and preserve eyewitness testimonies as part of a therapeutic healing process that will construct the narrative for future generations.
